Dr. Ella Houston
Senior Lecturer in Disability Studies and core member of the Centre for Culture & Disability Studies, Liverpool Hope University
Dr Houston's research on disability and diversity in advertising is published in leading international journals, including the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Literary & Cultural Disability Studies, the International Review of Qualitative Research, Disability & Society, and Media, Culture & Society. She is a member of the journal Disability & Society’s editorial board, and recently guest edited a special issue of JLCDS, which features analyses of disability and advertising across Canada, India, Japan, the U.K. and U.S. In addition to research, Dr Houston teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on cultural representations of, and attitudes towards, disability.
